Nuneaton League. A Match was played at Ansley between Ansley Village and Chapel End on Saturday. The highest scorers for Ansley were C. Everitt not out 14, Rev C. Eaton (sic) 11, and P. Shelbourne 9, making a total of 52. Chapel End made 75 runs and won by 23. Their chief scorers were J. Phillips 26, D Hall 12, and G. Williams 11. J. Stockingford v Ansley Village

“SPECTATOR” seems confused this week. Two accounts of this game appear, the first refers to 2nd XIs

Stockingford 2nd met Ansley Village, at Ansley, in a league match on Saturday. Ansley made a poor show by only making 25 runs. Everitt bowled splendidly, and took seven wickets for 23 runs. Stockingford managed to win by 11 runs, the top scorer being Curl with 8. Spencer headed the bowling average by taking six wickets for 10 runs, and Brown four wickets for 14 runs.

The score sheet has Spencer 7 wickets and Brown 3 wickets.

Stockingford encountered Ansley Village, and nobody on either side reached double figures, although three reached 8. Stockingford won by 36 to 25.

In the Stockingford innings it has Oliver not Olner, and gives the score as 46 but the individual scores are as above. In the Ansley innings it has Shelbourne not Shelhorne, Yorke not York, Toone not Toon and omits J Phillips, giving the score for 9 wickets.

Nuneaton Ivanhoe v Ansley Village

Ansley Village journeyed to Nuneaton on Saturday, only to undergo defeat at the hands of the Ivanhoe by 35 runs. J. Miller (18), G. Bircall (sic) (16), and H. Taylor (15), were the principal scorers in the Ivanhoe eleven; and J. Toon (21) and A. Everitt (17) were the most conspicuous hitters on the Ansley side. Scores:-
